Our History

Jesse Mendoza once lived a fast-paced, secular life as a music producer in Los Angeles. Surrounded by the industry, success, and influence, he was also caught in a cycle of substance abuse, addiction, and destructive choices. Nights were filled with wild parties, temporary highs, and a lifestyle that, on the surface, looked fulfilling—but underneath, it led to emptiness, instability, and pain.

Everything changed after a life-altering encounter with Christ.

Through faith, accountability, and a renewed sense of purpose, he walked away from addiction and began rebuilding his life from the inside out. What was once a platform for self-indulgence became a calling to serve. Music was no longer just an industry—it became a tool for healing, truth, and transformation.

Out of that journey, Zion Streetz Music Ministry was created.

Today, we exist to reach the very people he once identified with—youth, young adults, and families navigating the pressures of culture, addiction, trauma, and lack of direction. We understand the streets, the struggles, and the mindset because we’ve lived it. And now, we’re committed to offering a different path.

Through music, mentorship, education, and workforce development, we provide a safe and empowering environment where individuals can:

• Discover purpose and identity
• Develop life skills and responsibility
• Express themselves creatively through music
• Receive guidance, mentorship, and support
• Break cycles of addiction, trauma, and poverty

We meet people where they are—but we don’t leave them there.

Zion Streetz bridges the gap between urban culture and positive, purpose-driven living. Whether through studio sessions, mentorship programs, community outreach, or job readiness training, we are building a generation that is not only talented—but grounded, responsible, and equipped for life.
